Finally an update!

Sorry it has taken so long for a recent update on the fam! Between Reiley Neal and a part time job I forget that people actually want to see how we are growing. Okay, not a good excuse, our net has been down for the past few weeks and that is the truth. And now I am not even sure if I remember how to post ablog. Here it goes!

So over the past few weeks Reiley has cut his first tooth, we had a very nice visit from Neals parents and we took Reiley on his first vacation to Moab! Whew.

About this tooth. Isn't 4 1/2 months way to little to be cutting a tooth? Well I guess not. I could have listened to my much wiser mother and mother in law that all the drooling that was going on was Reileys first tooth coming in. I (being the pro I am) doubted the thought. I mean, Rei is such an awesome kid I had no clue from him that he was teething, other than the drooling and every toy, finger and sock he got in his mouth, I was sure it was nothing unusual. But sure enough! Neal was the first one to actually see the tooth. Cute little thing. Never did Reiley once make a fuss about it until we got to Moab. That part of the story comes later in the post.

Mike and Paula made a trip down for a week to come see the baby but to also go see the band play for their 10 year anniversary. 10 years ago on April 18th Royal Bliss played their 1st show in the basement of Club DV8, a club I was never old enough to go to while it was around. They played 2 shows the weekend of the 18th and 19th and the crazy thing about those dates it that they signify a few dates to us, not only the bands success. 5 years ago on April 20th Neal had his accident in Long Beach and 1 year ago on the 19th I found out we were going to be parents. Crazy how things work in circles like that?

Anyway, we love when his parents come down! Great company, great babysitters and even great at taking us out to get a great dinner. The best part about his parents being here is watching the love they give to Reiley. Mike won't put the kid down!!!!!!!!!

Then we went to Moab! We needed a vacation like you could not believe, and a vacation it was. We camped out about 10 miles before you get into town with my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, sister and her boyfriend and some close family friends. The gang loves to ride the dirt bikes and the 4 wheelers but I am not to fond of the things really. Except when Neal takes me on those midnight
rides that I won't get into to much because...Paula, I know you will read this and I don't want to freak you out!!!!!!

Since I am not much of the rider, we decided to take Reiley on his first hike. We did the Power Dam hike, one Neal has been on a gazillion times (not sober I am sure) and a first time for me. Sober. It was a blast and Reiley loved it. Although he did not look to comfy in his pack he slept the whole way up and sang the whole way down! It was awesome! He kept to his sleeping habits during the night time which was nice so we could actually sit around the camp fire at night, but before his bedtime.......yeah not fun! A teething baby, not in his own house, a little out of sorts with the atmosphere he was in and oh yeah, he just got his 4 month old shots before we went down. Other than that he did awesome!

Now we are home and I am back to work. I can't believe how fast time is going and how big Reiley gets every day. Almost rolling over, smiling and laughing all the time, and really really trying to talk.
