Royal Bliss New Video

Check it out!

It's kinda weird, but cool. I think the song and the band is way better than this video. Not my favorite idea for a video but I guess if the label likes it thats good! See as Neals wife and a band protector I have to express my opinion. It only means I care.

Any way..........here is the history on how the video was made as well as

the video!
ENJOY!

Famed Los Angeles street artist and master puppeteer Eli Presser has lent his unique talents to the upcoming video Save Me from Capitol Music Group / MRV Music artists Royal Bliss. The video, directed by Presser and Greg Edgerton uses a life-sized puppet specifically constructed for the shoot which took place in the Mojave Desert under less than ideal conditions of 110 degree heat and 40 mph winds. The post-production on the video took an excruciating 4 weeks due to the challenges of frame-by-frame removal of the puppeteers used to operate the puppet.

Save Me doesn't feature any of the members of Royal Bliss but it does show viewers a walking personification of Royal Bliss's tormented psyche. The star of the video is a puppet-headed human form with a smooth and impassive face; through skillful editing and clever camera-work, his movements are made halting and deliberate, like a marionette untethered. He lives alone in the desert, and only occasionally ventures out of his humble home. At times, hes buried up to his waist in the sand outside; at other moments, he has enough self-possession to converse with his only friend, his tabby cat, and flip ruefully through old photo books. The entire clip is rendered against a background that resembles withered paper or worn leather; it imparts an intimate texture to a clip that already feels emotionally raw. Soaked in sunset reds and dusty yellows, the Save Me video is gorgeous, artistic, and compulsively watchable.

I'm a huge Royal Bliss fan and think Neal and Taylor and two of the coolest guys I've met. The interpretation of this video, I will agree is a bit weird, and someone trying to apply it the song lyrics and make some sense of it is challenging. An artsy person may look deeper and try to understand how this puppets experiences, and hermit like attributes mirror a Royal Bliss Band members own life. I will agree that is was done well and it kind of looks like a promo for a horror film, but I'm with you, Royal Bliss has such compelling lyrics and awesome emotion that this video, as cool as it is, really doesn't do the band any justice. Royal Bliss is better than this video. There's my two cents form someone you don't know, but I'm looking forward to the disc coming out.

Very interesting interpretation of the lyrics. I think it will hit home with many of the fans although I think you're right, it doesn't really do the band justice.
